Playmobil wanted to target shoppers with young children to increase consideration and drive sales during the key Christmas period.

Canvas created a Christmas Grotto sponsorship at intu shopping centres with a network sponsorship across 10 centres generating potential reach of 28m over 6 weeks. Playmobil influenced the design and operation of the grottos, and all children received a Playmobil toy to increase opportunities for further purchase.

In addition to Playmobil branding, this provided an opportunity for Playmobil to distribute their catalogue and increase awareness of Playmobil website to publicise their full product range.

This campaign increased sales and footfall to toy retailers within intu centres and created a basis for a long-term Playmobil relationship with intu from 2016 to 2020. To date this partnership has generated over £1million in revenue for intu.
